Alleged Pregnancy: Gospel singer, Sammie Okposo, tenders public apology on Instagram

Sammie Okposo, a Nigerian gospel singer, has apologized to his wife and family for having an extramarital affair with a woman from the United States.

Mr Okposo’s apology comes less than 24 hours after the woman, who went by the name African Doll, accused him of impregnating and abandoning her.

On Monday, African Doll revealed this in an interview with ‘Obodo Oyibo TV.’

She claimed that after she told him she was expecting a child, the musician became hostile to her.

They met in Dallas on one of his tours, grew close, and began an affair, according to African Doll, which led in her being pregnant for him.

The ‘Wellu Wellu’ singer, who began his career in Nollywood as a soundtrack producer in 1995, is responsible for some of Nigeria’s most popular gospel songs.

On Tuesday morning, the musician apologized to his wife, family, and spiritual dads on his verified Instagram profile before making it private.

“I feel compelled to bring a particularly unfortunate incident to your attention because, while I am not proud of it, it is the right thing to do.” “On my latest trip to the United States (late 2021), I became closely connected with a lady, despite the fact that I was married and a minister of the gospel,” he wrote.

“I am embarrassed of my acts and regret them since they have caused a great deal of suffering to my lovely wife Ozioma, my family, and myself.” As I strive toward making peace with God via repentance and prayer,

The Delta State native went on to say that he’ll be taking a vacation from ministry activities in order to seek healing.

“I am halting all ministry activities until complete restoration,” he said, adding, “since this is what is appropriate and what I know I owe God and His people.”

He then apologized to his wife, Ozioma, for the humiliation and shame his acts had caused.
